STAGE OF ENGAGEMENT: IMPLEMENTING

The wellbeing of local government officials and staff is crucial for maintaining effective governance and delivering high-quality services to the community. However, the demanding nature of their roles often leads to stress, burnout, and decreased job satisfaction.

By prioritizing the wellbeing of local government officials and staff, CONNECT’s wellbeing initiative not only benefits the individuals directly involved but also contributes to a healthier, more resilient, and effective governance system that ultimately serves the community’s needs more efficiently and compassionately.
Why Wellbeing?
We asked municipal officials to list the current public safety and wellbeing concerns in their community, what are the current stressors of their position, and how do they currently relieve stress.
The lack of resources available to local government officials and staff to address their mental health and wellbeing affects more than just the officials & staff themselves; if an official or staff member isn’t properly caring for their own health, entire communities can feel the impact.
